The weather here on the Veracruz coast has not been so good the last couple of days.  It rained lightly most of yesterday and is cool and cloudy today.  I have been staying close to home except for a trip yesterday of about ten miles to San Rafael, where they have a proper grocery store.  My camp-mate Sherry was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and is a big football fan, so I am going to have to hang my head in shame the rest of the week because Ohio State bean University of Michigan today 37-7.

This morning when I went across the street at about 7 AM to buy the newspaper there were two big school buses parked in front of the coffee shop.  One was being towed by a big truck and the other bus was towing a Ford F-350 pick-up.  The pick-up had a temporary Arkansas license tag and the other three vehicles had no tags at all.  I asked where they were going and it turned out they were headed to Honduras to sell the buses, which will probably be in service for the next 15 years or so!  Since there is a lot of room inside of a school bus, they were filled up with automobile bumpers and televisions and food freezers and weed whackers and all kinds of stuff for resale.

Alberto (Sherry's husband) says that while they have been here (since August) they have seen a lot of traffic going through Mexico and on to Central America.  I guess the east coast of Mexico is the shortest route to get there.

Anyhow, since I haven't been doing anything exciting the last few days, here are some more pictures from El Tajin.  You will notice that I've learned how to label them by adding text!


El tiempo aquí en la costa de Veracruz no ha sido tan bueno el último par de días. Llovió ligeramente mayor parte de ayer y hoy en día fresco y nublado. He estado viviendo cerca de su casa, excepto para un viaje de ayer de unos quince kilómetros de San Rafael, donde tienen una tienda de abarrotes adecuada. Mi campo de su compañero de Jerez nació y se crió en Columbus, Ohio, y es un gran aficionado al fútbol, así que voy a tener que colgar la cabeza en la vergüenza el resto de la semana porque Ohio frijol de la Universidad Estatal de Michigan hoy 37-7.

Esta mañana cuando iba cruzando la calle alrededor de las 7 AM a comprar el periódico que había dos autobuses escolares grandes estacionado frente a la cafetería. Uno de ellos era remolcado por un camión grande y el otro autobús fue remolcado un Ford F-350 pick-up. El pick-up tenía un carácter temporal de etiquetas Arkansas licencia y los otros tres vehículos no tenían etiquetas en absoluto. Le pregunté a dónde iban y resultó que se dirigían a Honduras para vender los buses, que probablemente estará en servicio durante los próximos 15 años! Puesto que hay una gran cantidad de espacio interior de un autobús escolar, se llenaron con parachoques de automóviles y televisores y congeladores de alimentos y whackers de malas hierbas y todo tipo de cosas para su reventa.

 Alberto (el esposo de Sherry) dice que mientras ellos han estado aquí (desde agosto) que han visto una gran cantidad de tráfico que pasa a través de México y de América Central. Supongo que la costa oriental de México es la ruta más corta para llegar allí.
