the symphony

Last night's entertainment was combined symphony orchestra from the states of Guanajuato and Queretaro.  They were pretty good, sounded like a marching band!  There was a 12-year-old trumpet player who was quite good and was featured as a soloist in a couple of the number--that is, he would play by himself for a while and then the band leader would wavr his arms and the whole gang would play all at once (think of John Philip Sousa), and then they's all go quiet and the trumpeter would play by himself for a while.

Here is a picture of me with someone in a costume.  A lady told me he was supposed to be from the "predator" movie, but I am not so sure about that.  Another picture is of my new little 'mascot' on my dashboard.  Made out of sugar and only cost about a dollar.  Hot sauce is really cheap here, about 70 cents a liter!  It would  probably cost twice that for a little 4-ounce bottle in Michigan.

I am eating healthy food--lots of fruit.  Here are the 'tunas' from the nopal cactus plant--they come in both green and purple.  You don't want to just reach and grab the tunas, either, because they have little spiny sticker things.  Then there are some baby bananas and the reddish-orange jocotes (which the silly Mexicans insist on calling ciruelas!).  Four tunas, eight jocotes and the bunch of bananas cost me about 92 cents, but they didn't have change so I have to stop by the store later because I still owe then six pesos.

Tonight's entertainment is a lady singer named "Simone" from Brasil.  I will report tomorrow.

No era un trompetista de 12 años de edad que fue bastante bueno y se presentó como solista en un par de la cantidad - es decir, que jugaría por él mismo durante un tiempo y luego el líder de la banda se wavr sus brazos y la pandilla que jugar todos a la vez (pienso en John Philip Sousa), y entonces todo quedará en silencio y el trompetista jugaría por él mismo durante un tiempo.
Aquí hay una foto mía con alguien en un traje. Una señora me dijo que iba a ser de la película de 'depredador', pero no estoy tan seguro de eso. Otra foto es de mi nuevo pequeño "mascota" de mi cuenta. Hecha de azúcar y sólo cuestan un dólar. Salsa picante es realmente barato aquí, a unos 70 centavos de dólar por litro! Es probable que cuestan el doble que para una pequeña botella de 4 onzas en Michigan.

Estoy comiendo alimentos sanos - mucha fruta. Aquí están los "atunes" de la planta de nopal - que vienen en verde y morado. Usted no quiere llegar solo y agarrar los atunes, ya sea porque tienen poco las cosas etiqueta espinosa. Luego hay algunos plátanos del bebé y la jocotes naranja rojizo (que los mexicanos tonto insistir en llamar a ciruelas!). Cuatro atunes, jocotes ocho y el racimo de plátanos me costó cerca de 92 centavos de dólar, pero no tenía cambio, así que tienen que pasar por la tienda más tarde porque todavía le deben a continuación, seis pesos.
