I've been moving northward, little by little.  From Tlalpujahua Salvatierra, where I had a nice visit with Don Rafa, the bicycle shop owner, and two other fellows I have met thanks to my friendship with him.  Don Rafa and I drove over across to the other side of the highway where Rafael Medina is in the process of constructing a new building, where he plans to open a bar and restaurant where he will sell drinks and serve snacks, primarily seafood.  The building seems to be coming along pretty quickly, as you can see from the pictures.  Construction began only about 45 days ago.  There is going to be a nice garden area beside the building, with tables and chairs and umbrellas.  There were seven or eight fellows who showed up the next morning for work, including an electrician.  The Grand Opening is supposed to take place in just a couple of months.
From there, I drove to Guanajuato, where I renewed acquaintance with the couple who run the trailer park and spent a day cleaning up the interior of my RV (cleaned the carpet).  Then on to Aguascalientes, for a short visit with my friend Jimmy and his family.  Jimmy and his wife and I took two of their grandchildren to downtown Aguascalientes on Sunday.  Almost all of the regular businesses seem to be closed on Sundays and a few blocks are given over to a flea market or swap meet where all manner of items, both new and used, are sold.  I found some things that I could use and Jimmy bought some equipment for his factory.  Then we went to the house of Ricky and Miriam, Jimmy"s son and daughter-in-law, for dinner.  They have just moved into a brand new house that is very nice and is in an area that is strictly residential, with a gated entrance and which looks just like a condominium development that you might find in Michigan.  I saw quite a few children playing outside, so it appears as if the neighborhood is mostly made up of young families.
Anyway, now I am in Zacatecas and will cross the border in a day or two.  Then it will take four or five days of highway driving to cover the remaining 1700 miles until I am back home in Michigan.

He estado moviendo hacia el norte, poco a poco.

  4. I'm impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that's both equally educative and amusing, and without a doubt, you've hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which too few folks are speaking intelligently about. Now i'm very happy
I came across this during my search for
    something relating to this.

  5. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave
it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I
    had to tell someone!
