Monte Alban is a ruins site that was built by the indigenous Zapotec people a long time ago.  it was their political center and at, its height, about 35,000 people lived there.  There are not any really tall pyramids, but I think the ball court is the best I have ever seen.  Parking is free and entry cost is 57 pesos, or about four and a half dollars.  There seemed to be a lot of Europeans visiting.  Maybe they all came together in a bus.
   Santa Maria del Tule is a small town about 8 miles outside of Oaxaca.  It is the home of the world's largest tree, which is said to be more than 2000 years old.
